At Mika Law, the heart of our work is Karla Verma, a dedicated immigration attorney with more than a decade of experience helping individuals and families find their way through the U.S. immigration system.
Fluent in Spanish and raised in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, Karla has a unique ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds, especially those with limited English proficiency. She guides clients through every step of the process, from naturalization and family-based petitions to visas, waivers, removal defense, asylum applications, and work permit renewals.
Karla earned her B.A. in Spanish from the University of Georgia and her J.D. from the Charleston School of Law, combining strong academic training with years of hands-on advocacy. Her extensive experience with USCIS, EOIR, ICE, CBP, and related agencies allows her to provide clear guidance and strong representation in even the most complex cases. She is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
When she’s not working with clients, Karla enjoys hiking, traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family.
